Toolbar and more
- This bar is located at the top of the window; on its left side the filename and the title of the application
- Are displayed. If the publication is unnamed, a default name is given. Notice the sequential number that follows the default filename. In cases where another unnamed publication will be created, the default filename will be “Publication2” and so on.
On the right side of the title bar, there are three buttons.
These are the following:
1.) Minimize button- when this button is clicked, the window will change into a button on the task bar. The application temporarily closed but it can still be accessed anytime – just click on the minimized button on the task bar with the publication’s filename and it will reopen.
2.) Restore button – this button returns the window to its previous size. If the window does not occupy the whole monitor screen, this button changes into a Maximize button which allows you to enlarge the window to fit the entire screen.
3.) Close button – when you click on this button, the application will be closed. If the file is not yet saved, a dialog box will appear asking if you would like to save your work/changes first before closing the application. Any work/changes that are not saved will be lost and you will have to do the work all over again.
Menu bar – this is the horizontal bar below the title bar. It contains tha names of menus, where each menu displays a list of commands.
Ask-a-Question box – this is located at the right side of the menu bar. It turns to the help topics which answer questions that you type in the box.
Standard toolbar – this toolbar contains the mot commonly used commands relative to the file such as saving, opening, viewing, editing and printing.
Formatting toolbar – the commands on this bar refer to the editing of text such as changing of font type, style, size, color, alignment, and others.
Objects toolbar – this toolbar contains tools that are used to create and manipulate text and graphics in MS publisher,
